Smile and wave boys....

Y’all, I am so tired, and it’s 11:30 at night for us, that I’m going to try and speed run this blog. In short, it was a Great, Beautifully Sunny, calm seas, blue skies and perfect Antarctic weather (I mean, it’s still freezing and I can see my breath but….Antarctica….we do WANT it cold down here.)

And our Ship was DAMNED if we weren’t going to utilize every second of it. They had us….well, “heavily suggested” that we get up at 4 am to see Iceberg Alley. A part of the Southern Ocean/Weddell Ocean where Icebergs from the continent will be pushed towards. So, I did, begrudgingly and even in my groggy state I can’t help but admire and love the icebergs gently drifting past us. We saw some Penguins on an Iceberg and I *did* take pictures. (The internet has steadily gotten worse allll trip. No pics for you yet.) We had breakfast, we had our first landing at…..9:10am (our group that’s when we went, but we were also last today.)

AND WE MADE LANDFALL BABY. True Antarctica continent, might be just the tip of the peninsula but I truly made it! It’s amazing. Like, truly utterly amazing. We saw penguins, and a seal on the boating in. (not too mention all the birds.) Well we saw a single solitary penguin at “Klemens Point”. Klemens is the name of our lead Naturalist/Expedition team leader by the way. We hiked a glacier, I did make it, and mishaps aside made it back. Surprised bbq lunch, and then…..

SURPRISE LANDING! WE LANDED ON AN ICE FLOW. (We called it Delphine’s Flow for the 2nd in Command Naturalist Expedition leader)

Seriously, we walked on an ice flow next to some penguins. after that we had dinner, and then did ANOTHER landing at Brown’s Bluff. I’ve nodded off three times typing this alone, I promised I will gush about it more tomorrow. And hey, maybe I can throw in some pics and video I took.
