It kinda feels like since we hit Queenstown, we've been non-stop.
It's been a great time - today was sunny, chilly at first but warmed up, and we had a lot planned.
First stop?
To see what fate had in store.
By which I mean, for like, 2 days I've been debating on if I should go bungy jumping off of Kawarau Bridge. It is apparently the first bungy jump in the world? It overlooks the (surprise) Kawarau river, which they used for the Pillars of Kings (Argonath!) in Lord of the Rings!
And so, we decided we'd get up, drive over there, and see if they had a spot available. Online, they had one spot as of last night, and when I double checked before we left, they didn't have anything showing as available.....
but when I rolled up, the girl was like, "Yeah, we got a spot if you want to go now."
"Oh uh...yeah. Now."
Then kinda before I could process, I was walking on the bridge and getting strapped in.
I fuckin did it.
I jumped.
I didn't die.
They're sending me video and photos soon, so I'll have proof soon but holy moly.
It's one of those things where....you know, I don't think I'd recommend it.
so glad I did it, but you know.
I can recommend other thrilling activities.
Anyways, after that we drove up to the Crown Range Summit, walked up a bit ( cause it can show you Middle Earth!) and then we came back down to Queenstown, had lunch at Ferg's again - this time at the bakery and not just the burger side. Watched a bit of the marathon going by.
Went to the Gondola, rode it up.
Did a luge ride
Came back down, got on a van to go canoying, then we went Canyoning! Into the Gibston River trail area - an amazing time! It took about 4 hours - got back by 6 to Queenstown.
Quick stop to leave our bags at home, then it was dinner in Town Center - went to a place called the Boardwalk - some *amazing* crab cakes and garlic bread for me
then we went to a -5 Degree Ice bar!
although as we went in, it was -9.5 degrees
Drinks and dancing (gotta keep yourself warm somehow!)
Then we ended the night walking about, eating churros and ice-cream.
It's been a long day, but a fun one!
Tomorrow is mostly driving, but we're still getting back kinda late.
When in...New Zealand, right?
No pictures tonight! Sorry!
