Okay, in the issue of fairness, not *everything* was closed.
Just the things we wanted to do today.
We wanted to take a tour of trinity college....tours are done for the season.
No big deal.
Oh wait, the Book of Kells exhibit is closed.
Well we can still see the Old Library...
oh for fu- that's closed too??
Okay, well there's the Science Gallery-oh.
Also no.
WELL FINE.
I'll go to the church my Great-great-grandmother went to when she still lived in Ireland....
THAT'S CLOSED TOO???? IT'S THE ONE THING
*sigh*
Fine. Fine.
Fine!
Fine.
It's fine.
it's fine.
So instead we wandered Grafton St and did some shopping.
Wandered a bit of the Temple district.
Saw a street musician who named himself Flute Loops. I really like his style so I got a CD.
(Totally plugging him--
)
We did however! Get to Whitefriar church which is where the remains of St Valentine is located.
It was suggested by one of the shopkeeps that we should visit cause...why not?
And the church was literally a 3 minute walk from our hotel so we went.
I'm not religious, but I am superstitious and you know, I don't think it hurts anyone if I participate in the rituals of church.
(I mean like, praying. I won't take communion or anything like that. That feels disrespectful.)
So I prayed to St Valentine for my family, for friends, for me. I mean it'd be neat if I found love or something within the year (!remind me, 1 year) but I'm not holding out hope.
So I mean, today was mostly the shopping. We had dinner at a sushi place to give us a break from irish fare, we stopped at a pub for a drink, but we're planning on going hard tomorrow night so....yeah.
I'll try to blog tomorrow in-between our morning activities and our evening to-do but who knows!
Pray for me.
;)
